Women's Club
Mission to Uganda
The Women’s Club has extended our outreach program all the way to Uganda. We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support with your donations of yarn and fabric for Fr. Richard’s charity “Bridges to Hope”. Lori Monahan was our ambassador to the women of Uganda with Fr. Richard’s mission trip in October. Read more about the mission below.
Mission to Uganda
Fr. Richard recently returned from Uganda where he and three other STA parishioners commissioned 2 new deep water wells, distributed hundreds of mosquito nets, supplied malaria drugs to a malaria clinic, set up a small business for a group of women, provided lunch for people living in a refugee camp, pledged a scholarship for a seminarian preparing to become a priest, and donated money to help rebuild a church. All this was accomplished through the non-profit corporation, headed by Fr.Richard, called Bridges to Hope.
Bridges to Hope provides assistance to the people of Fr. Richard’s Village of Agu, as well as to the surrounding communities in Eastern Uganda. You can read more about this non-profit organization, where every dollar donated goes directly to the people of Uganda, at www.bridgestohope.com.
If you wish to be a partner in the change of so many lives, please contact Bridges to Hope by sending an e-mail to Lori Monahan at TheDeaconsWife@comcast.net or call Lori or Kevin Monahan at 860-906-1824. Lori is also selling beautiful, colorful beads that are surprisingly made out of paper for $7 each. The proceeds are used to support the women who make the bead
