Parish Council

The St. Thomas the Apostle Parish Council assists the pastor in making
decisions concerning parish activities and parish life.  Specifically, our
Parish Council’s purpose and function is to assist in the development of
plans and policies for the overall welfare of the parish by:

  1. Encouraging more prominent lay involvement in the life of the
    parish community;
  2. Establishing and serving as a medium of communication between
    the pastor and laity in the spiritual and material needs of the parish community;
  3. Cooperating with other religious and civic organizations in serving
    the community-at-large; and
  4. Advising and assisting the pastor in the administration and
    development of spiritual and material matters in the parish.

There are three types of members of our parish council: (1) “ex-officio”
members (clergy, two lay trustees and the immediate past President of the Council); (2) heads of or representatives from existing parish committees
and organizations; and (3) elected members.

Elected members serve a 3-year term.  The following parishioners currently
serve as elected members on our Parish Council: Corey Reckow, Patti Sisti,
Jamie Sullivan, Angelo Faenza, Sr., Will Huber, Eileen Cullen, John Daly,
Rachel Lobo–Lowry, Rosaire Brodieur, Joe McCabe, Michael DeConti,
Ray Smith, George Coppolo, Patrick Klingman, Chris Haddad, and
Richard Ruffee (President).

Our Parish Council usually meets on the second Monday of each month from September to May in the Parish Center at 7:00pm.  The meeting is open
and all parishioners are welcome to attend.

Any parishioner who is interested in serving on our Parish Council should
contact any of the current members or look for announcements in the
weekly bulletin regarding upcoming elections to Parish Council.
