LITTLE BLACK BOOK FOR LENT

 

THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK for the 2011 LENTEN season will be available on March 12 and 13 after each mass in our church.

The book contains readings for each day beginning the Sunday before Ash Wednesday and ending on Easter Sunday.

The right page will focus on the Sunday Gospel for Lent with explainations and reflections along the way. The left-hand page has a variety of quotes, information, and timely thoughts.

This book provides the framework for you to enjoy one of the oldest traditions of prayer called Lectio-Divina – sacred reading. You read a short scripture passage and simply let God speak to you through the words, guiding you to reflections that sometimes seem to come from nowhere.

People are often surprised at how easy it is to pray this way and how profound this connection with God can be.

It can change your day. It can change your life.

Members of the education committee provide the books. A $1 donation to defray costs would be appreciated, but it is not necessary.
